I am not people
Fighting illuminates who people really are. I’m not giving second chances to be mean to me anymore.

I sold my soul
This poem took 5 pictures to fit it all in so I’m just gonna put it here without the pics (you can’t check it out with pics on ig: thevioletzoo). I had so much fun writing this one–it kinda rhymes, it’s a bit kitschy, I just dig it. I have more verses in my head but I’ll leave you with these:
I sold my soul
for a little while.
For a big ol’ smile.
That wasn’t just
for me
but it felt like it.
I sold my time
for none of his.
“I’m sorry, babe,
I’m just so bizzz…y”
and I didn’t believe
but I stayed.
I allowed all this.
I sold my heart
for only ache.
I knew it the
first week
but like I said
I stayed.
I tried to end it,
to let it fade.
But the bed
in my heart
was already made.
I sold my sanity
for a pair of eyes
that saw only
himself
when he gazed
into mine.
When he said
“I love you.”
When he lied
and lied.
I sold myself
to get outta debt.
I had to sell out,
the universe
made a bet.
(In my favor.)
It wanted me
to fall
and pick myself up
off the floor
so I didn’t have to
sell myself
anymore.
I sold my pride
for a one-way ride.
It was all downhill
for my tenuous mind.
The only way out?
To climb and climb.
And I did.
And I transformed.
And, motherfucker,
watch me shine.

I also posted this poem on my 1 year anniversary, although this one was new. It is full of gratitude and transformation and hope.
